District Fire Chief

The Chief of the Henrietta Fire District is a career position and is ultimately responsible for the firematic operation of the Fire District. Some of the duties include: supervises the career and volunteer firefighters and officers, liaison to Town, County and State agencies, assist with budget preparation, grant writing, purchasing, and serves with the Commission on various committees and labor contract negotiations. The Chief is supported by an Assistant Chief and three Battalion Chiefs

Chief Mark Strzyzynski


Mark is a Lifetime resident of Henrietta, graduating from RH Sperry in 1983. He currently lives in West Henrietta with his wife and two adult Children all 3 are also products of the Rush Henrietta School District.

He holds a degree in Fire Protection and has 30 years emergency services experience, including 25 years with the Rochester Fire Department where he rose to the rank of Battalion Chief. Mark has previously volunteered with the Fire District, Henrietta Ambulance and the RH Soccer Club.

Currently a member of the Western New York Incident Management Team and has worked type 1 complex incidents such as the Flight 3407 Crash and Super Storm Sandy. Holds FEMA certifications as Incident Commander, Operations Sections Chief and Planning Section Chief.


Outside of work Mark enjoys Mountain Biking, Running, cross country skiing, soccer and spending time with his loving family.
